Foxes rally to earn Stoke draw

Stoke City 2 Leicester 2
Bojan scores early on
Walters pounces on defensive error
Mahrez nets fifth goal of the season
Vardy secures share of the spoils

Match Summary

Stoke City took just 13 minutes to take the lead, Bojan Krkic slotting home in his first start in eight months. It took just seven minutes for the Potters to double their lead when Jonathan Walters pounced on a poor backpass to score.

However, comeback kings Leicester worked their way back into the game and Riyad Mahrez scored his fifth goal of the season after Danny Drinkwater won a penalty.

And Jamie Vardy would complete the Foxes' third comeback of the campaign on 69 minutes after being played through by Mahrez.

Full Report

Stoke could not have hoped for a better start when Bojan latched on to a cute Marko Arnautovic pass to fire a low effort past Kasper Schmeichel.

And Walters would not have believed his luck as a desperate backpass from Wes Morgan landed right at his feet seven minutes later before he coolly slotted home one-on-one with the Leicester stopper.

However, the Foxes came out of half-time a different side and took just four minutes to find a way back into the game after Arnautovic hauled Drinkwater down in the area.

And Mahrez made no mistake from the spot to net his fifth goal in what has been a sensational start to the season.

Stoke stopper Jack Butland had to be alert on 62 minutes to deny Vardy at the near post after the Leicester man had burst into the box.

The Foxes have made a name for themselves coming back from behind in three of their five games this season, coming from two down last weekend to beat Aston Villa 3-2.

And there was a sense of deja vu at the Britannia as Vardy ran onto a Mahrez through-ball, before shrugging off his defender and sliding the ball beneath Butland.

Stoke had a late chance to win it in the 82nd minute from a Xherdan Shaqiri free-kick, though Schmeichel did ever so well to make the save.

There would be no repeat of last weekend's antics for Leicester, however, despite Vardy firing narrowly wide of the far post in the fourth minute of added time.
