Stranraer 0 - 1 Albion Rovers FC: Scott McBride comes up trumps for Albion at Stranraer

Posted Sunday, September 20, 2015 by PA

Substitute Scott McBride was the Albion hero in a tight 1-0 win for his side at Stranraer.

With just 11 minutes remaining, the midfielder latched on to a pass by Paul Willis to beat David McGurn left footed, bringing the Wee Rovers a hard-fought victory.

Frustratingly for Brian Reid's men, the home side had a chance to win it themselves, just before the goal. Another substitute, Peter McGill, had a fierce shot at Ross Stewart's goal but hit over by fractions.

Scott Rumsby's header was also cleared off the line as the Stair Park side made better headway in the scrap for supremacy.

However, their ultimate defeat saw them drop into the bottom two of Ladbrokes League One.
