Airdrie United 1 - 2 Ayr Utd.: Ayr surf to victory on a Brian Gilmour rocket at Airdrie

Ian McCall's Ayr came from behind to win at Airdrieonians 2-1 in Ladbrokes League One.

The hosts took the lead inside five minutes, Liam Watt turning inside from the left before curling a fine effort into the far corner.

Craig Moore nearly put United level when he wriggled free of his marker to win the header, but goalkeeper Neil Parry was on hand to make the save.

Moore eventually grabbed an equaliser before the interval, firing high into the goal from the edge of the box after good work by Jordan Preston on the wing.

Brian Gilmour put Ayr in front after 66 minutes, with a stunning 20-yard strike as Preston made the assist once again.

David Cox nearly drew the home side level as he glanced a header wide before Moore shot over at the other end after finding space inside the box.
