Queen of South vs Greenock Morton preview - Queen of the South without Iain Russell for Morton clash

Queen of the South striker Iain Russell looks set to miss out on Saturday's visit of Morton with a hamstring injury.

Dale Hilson (foot) and Callum Tapping (thigh) remain on the sidelines but Mark Millar is available as the Dumfries men look to end a run of four successive defeats.

Manager James Fowler said: "We played really well at Raith Rovers last week however we could not get ahead in the game. Even after we went behind we created chances however we did not get the goal we deserved.

"If we play like that again I am sure that we will score and give ourselves a platform to win against Morton."

The visitors are without the suspended Conor Pepper while knee injuries rule out Mark Russell and Frank McKeown. Denny Johnstone is a doubt and although Joe McKee has recovered from a hamstring problem that has kept him out for two months, a lack of recent game time will see him remain absent.

Cappielow manager Jim Duffy said: "We did well to win a cup tie at Queen of the South last month and are looking to do the same in this game.

"We have proven to be resilient in the Championship so far this season and we will need to have that quality in abundance again as Queens are a good side."
