Huddersfield Town vs Bolton Wanderers preview - Huddersfield striker Nahki Wells hoping to start against Bolton

Huddersfield striker Nahki Wells is hoping to return to the starting line-up in the home game against Bolton.

Wells, the club's leading goalscorer both last season and in the current campaign, was dropped to the bench for the midweek game at Charlton, where Huddersfield secured their first win of the season.

Boss Chris Powell said he could recall the Bermuda international, while defender Tommy Smith and forward Jamie Paterson, also demoted to the substitutes at Charlton, could also return to the starting XI.

Powell has plenty of options. Emyr Huws and Mustapha Carayol both made their full debuts in midweek and defender Jason Davidson was back in the side, but midfielder Jonathan Hogg remains doubtful after missing out due to an ankle injury.

Zach Clough will miss out for Bolton in West Yorkshire.

The 20-year-old injured his shoulder in the midweek clash with Sheffield Wednesday and may require surgery to remedy the issue.

Neil Lennon is not ready to welcome back any of Wanderers' injured players, although Max Clayton (knee), Liam Trotter (hamstring) and David Wheater (Achilles) both played in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Monday night.

Skipper Darren Pratley (knee) and defender Dorian Dervite (ligament damage) are a little further away.
