Colchester United vs Gillingham preview - Colchester defender George Elokobi banned against Gillingham

George Elokobi is suspended for Colchester when they entertain table-topping Gillingham.

The ex-Wolves and Oldham defender was dismissed in the U's Tuesday night victory over Sheffield United and will now serve a one-game suspension.

Striker Chris Porter's persistent ankle troubles ruled him out against his old club and is not expected to be back until next week.

Marvin Sordell, who scored the winner against the Blades, and goalkeeper Jamie Jones, who saved a late penalty, are both in line to make their home debuts.

The trip comes too soon for Gillingham defender Deji Oshilaja.

The Cardiff loanee is yet to feature this month due to a knee problem and is not expected to return to training until next week.

Max Ehmer will therefore likely continue at the heart of Justin Edinburgh's defence for the club currently top of the Sky Bet League One table.

Edinburgh's injury list has cleared significantly in the past few weeks, with John Egan, Aaron Morris, Brennan Dickenson, Doug Loft, Emmanuel Osadebe and Cody McDonald all returning to action recently.
