Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss Tuesday's Champions League opener against Juventus at Etihad Stadium because of a knee injury.
But winger Raheem Sterling has recovered from a hamstring problem and is available, as is playmaker David Silva after ankle trouble.
"Sergio is not fit," said boss Manuel Pellegrini.
"I hope he will be OK for the weekend but we must wait to see the result of the scans."
