Substitute Uros Djurdjevic scored a late equaliser for Palermo on Sunday afternoon to deny Carpi their first ever win in Serie A.
Carpi looked to be heading for an historic victory at the Stadio Renzo Barbera after substitute Marco Borriello put the newly-promoted outfit into a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute.
An own goal from Palermo defender Roberto Vitiello had previously cancelled out Oscar Hiljemark's opener in the 23rd minute.
But Djurdjevic came to the rescue by heading Achraf Lazaar's cross past helpless Carpi goalkeeper Francesco Benussi just two minutes from the end to ensure his side maintained their unbeaten run this season.
