Stenhousemuir 1 - 0 Stranraer: Smith strike earns Stenhousemuir victory
Posted Sunday, September 13, 2015 by PA
Allan Smith's solitary strike proved enough for Stenhousemuir to claim maximum points against Stranraer in their League One clash.
Chances were at a premium as Smith and Dale Keenan missed first-half chances for Stenhousemuir and Stranraer respectively.
The hosts finally made the breakthrough in the 66th minute when Smith was set up by Alan Cook to fire into the bottom corner.
Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Jamie Barclay then had to do well twice to preserve the lead, first tipping over from Paul Cairney's shot and then keeping hold of a header from Keenan deep into stoppage time.
The hosts held on to claim their third win of the season.
