Albion Rovers FC 1 - 3 Airdrie United: Airdrieonians march on after win at Albion Rovers

Posted Sunday, September 13, 2015 by PA

Airdrieonians continued their fine form with a 3-1 victory over Albion in Scottish League One.

Taylor Morgan gave Airdrieonians an 11th-minute lead with a low right-footed shot and it got even better for the visitors when Albion defender Michael Dunlop headed into his own net eight minutes later.

Albion were back in it within a minute of the second half after Darren Young's right-footed strike found the top corner but David Cox's low 67th-minute finish restored Airdrieonians' two-goal cushion.

Caolan McAleer had a shot tipped over by Albion goalkeeper Ross Stewart but it mattered little as Airdrieonians, who lost their first two games, cruised to a fourth straight league win.
