Notts County 3 - 2 Luton Town: Last-gasp Noble wins it for Notts County

Posted Sunday, September 13, 2015 by PA

Liam Noble struck an injury-time free kick to hand Notts County a 3-2 victory over a resilient Luton side at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies started brightly and had a goal chalked off for offside when Mawouna Amevor headed in a free-kick, before Izale McLeod went down in the box only for his appeals to be waved away.

But McLeod had the last laugh when he produced a brilliant header from Graham Burke's cross and then followed it up with a classy finish from Thierry Audel's pass.

The visitors claimed a goal back when Cameron McGeehan lashed in at the back post and drew level when Jonathan Smith crashed in a terrific strike from 20 yards.

It set up a chaotic final 20 minutes as both sides went for the winner and, after Scott Cuthbert saw red for a professional foul on McLeod, Notts won it at the death.

Noble stepped up to lash in an unstoppable free-kick from 20 yards in the third added minute to break Luton hearts.
