Managerless Peterborough earned their first win in seven games with a crushing 5-1 victory at Oldham.

Posh - under caretaker boss Grant McCann - took the lead on 14 minutes when Souleymane Coulibaly got behind Oldham's defence and crossed for debutant Lee Angol to sidefoot home from six yards.

More poor defending helped the visitors double their lead after 38 minutes as Oldham's Connor Brown was robbed by Angol, whose left-wing cross was fired in from 12 yards by Erhun Oztumer.

Oldham replied three minutes after the break, with Rhys Murphy controlling David Dunn's pass and finishing superbly in the top corner from 16 yards.

The home side briefly threatened an equaliser, but they were caught on the break after 62 minutes as Coulibaly raced clear to beat the advancing keeper.

Coulibaly struck again three minutes later, nodding in from point-blank range after Marcus Maddison crossed from the right.

Dominic Poleon hit the post for Oldham, but Angol slotted in Peterborough's fifth goal from 12 yards in the 77th minute as he was left unmarked from Michael Smith's cross.
