FC Ingolstadt 04 0 - 0 Wolfsburg : Wolfsburg drop points at Ingolstadt

Wolfsburg were held to a 0-0 draw at Ingolstadt in their first game since selling Kevin De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic to Manchester City and Inter Milan respectively.

On their first ever visit to the Audi-Sportpark, the Wolves lacked bite in attack and they could also consider them fortunate not to have been beaten by a bold Bavarian side.

Julian Draxler had Wolfsburg's two biggest moments of danger on his debut but he found De Bruyne's boots just a little too big to fill on this occasion.

Draxler nearly opened his account on the counter-attack when he got in around the last defender, but his shot was blocked by Ingolstadt goalkeeper Ramazan Ozcan and Bas Dost lacked the composure to find the unguarded goal with the rebound.

Ingolstadt had otherwise been dealing well with the Wolves and keeping their goalkeeper Diego Benaglio busy on his 100th appearance for Wolfsburg.

Roger tested Benaglio from 20 yards out early in the second half as the Bavarians started as they had ended the first 45 minutes, in the ascendency.

Draxler provided Wolfsburg's next shot in the 63rd minute but Ozcan tipped it over the crossbar in what proved to be a rare moment when he was actually needed.

Only in the closing stages did the visitors start to put some pressure on Ingolstadt but Ozcan was where he had to be to keep them out, saving from Naldo's free-kick to preserve a well-earned point for the Bundesliga newcomers.
