Shane Lowery is pushing to make his Birmingham debut after signing on a deal until the end of the season.
The former Aston Villa defender, who spent time on trial at St Andrew's this summer, joined this week after leaving Leyton Orient.
Stephen Gleeson is available despite being carried off in the win over MK Dons before the international break with an ankle injury.
"All the international players are back and well and we've given one or two some extra time," boss Gary Rowett told a press conference.
Luke Freeman has served a three-match suspension and is available for Bristol City.
The Robins midfielder was sent off in the 4-2 home defeat to Brentford last month and Bobby Reid has impressed in his absence.
Defenders Nathan Baker and Liam Moore are in contention to make debuts for the club after completing respective season-long loan deals from Aston Villa and Leicester on transfer deadline day.
Goalkeeper Ben Hamer, also on loan from Leicester, has played the last five games but regular number one Frank Fielding is close to full fitness after damaging a shoulder last month.
