Chelsea irked by Martial deal, £110 bid, midfielder to return to training

Chelsea are reported angry with Monaco's decision to sell Anthony Martial to rivals Manchester United.

The Red Devils landed Martial in a mammoth £36m deal on transfer deadline day.

And that huge move has infuriated the top brass at Stamford Bridge, according to The Sunday Times.

They report the French side had told interested parties they would only hold talks over a sale next summer and the player was due to stay for the current campaign.

Paris St-Germain attempted to land Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo with a £110m bid in the summer.

That's according to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, who say PSG tabled the huge offer at the end of the transfer window.

Their bid was immediately rejected by Real but PSG are understood to be weighing up another move next summer.

United who are also known to be interested in bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

United midfielder Nick Powell is set to return to training this week.

The 21-year-old hasn't played since December after undergoing knee surgery.

His last appearance for United was in their 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup last August, while his last league outing for the Red Devils coming nearly three years ago.

But Powell is edging his way towards a return and tweeted: "Weekend off before getting back into training after so long".
