PAUL POGBA will use the transfer window closure to resolve an image-rights issue - and make himself a even more attractive proposition for Chelsea and Manchester City.

A former agent is demanding £25million to give up his stake in the Juventus and France midfielder.

That was a stumbling block for clubs chasing the former Manchester United trainee.

Now, Pogba and his new agent Mino Raiola are ready to go to the French courts to resolve the issue.

Chelsea were still prepared to smash the British transfer record to sign Pogba, 22, in the transfer window which closed last Tuesday.

Juve, though, did not want to sell - even though they could have banked anything from £70m to a world record £100m.

City, meanwhile, decided to make Pogba a long-term target and concentrated instead on the signings of £58m Kevin De Bruyne, 24, from Wolfsburg and £49m Raheem Sterling, 20, from Liverpool.

But Pogba is on City's radar for next summer.

They could then face competition, though, not only from Chelsea but Spain's big two, Real Madrid and Barcelona, whose transfer ban finishes in January.
