Airdrie United 3 - 2 Cowdenbeath : Airdrie battle back for victory against Cowdenbeath

Posted Sunday, September 06, 2015 by PA

Two late goals in the space of four minutes saw Airdrie come from behind to claim a 3-2 Ladbrokes League One victory over struggling Cowdenbeath.

David Cox put the hosts ahead after 30 minutes when he latched on to Caolan McAleer's ball and fired past Jamie Sneddon.

But three minutes before the interval the Blue Brazil were level when Scott Smith brought down Robbie Buchanan and he picked himself up to convert from the spot.

The visitors went ahead in the 58th minute when Andy Murdoch swept home Mo Yaqub's ball from close range.

George Hunter then levelled with 13 minutes to go when he fired home a fine effort from just outside the box.

And four minutes later Airdie were ahead when Hunter played in Liam Watt and he made no mistake.
