Portsmouth vs Accrington Stanley preview - Paul Cook to revert back to league line-up for Accrington clash

Portsmouth manager Paul Cook is likely to make several changes from the team that lost 2-0 at Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday when his side host Accrington in Sky Bet League Two.

Six players made their debuts against Exeter - summer signings Adam Barton and Kal Naismith and academy teenagers Calvin Davies, Brandon Joseph-Buadi, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kaleem Haitham.

A vastly different line-up had won at Luton the previous Saturday to maintain Portsmouth's unbeaten league record, and Cook is expected to recall most of those involved.

Matt Tubbs, who scored the winner against the Hatters, and goalkeeper Brian Murphy are among those expected to start on Saturday having been left out at Exeter.

Andy Proctor could return to the Accrington midfield after coming back from a long-term injury.

The 31-year-old fractured his ankle against Burton in March, and after playing 88 minutes from the bench in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Bury, could be ready to start in place of the injured Seamus Conneely, who he replaced against the Shakers.

Shay McCartan is away on international duty with Northern Ireland's Under-21 squad while Joe Wright is away with Wales' youngsters.

Josh WIndass will return after being rested on Tuesday.
