Malaysia suffer heavy defeat

Malaysia were on the receiving end of a heavy 10-0 defeat against the UAE in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday.
It was always going to be a daunting task for the Tigers against a team that finished third at the Asian Cup earlier this year, knocking Japan out along the way.
The UAE's star players soon starting making life difficult for the opposition.
Most of the damage was done in the space of 21 first-half minutes, with the home side scoring seven goals during that rampant period.
Mohanad Salem scored the first in the 16th minute, with Ali Ahmed Mabkhout adding a second six minutes later.
From that point on, it was a steady onslaught on the Malaysian goal. Ahmed Khalil added a third within two minutes, Habib Fardan Abdualla added another seconds later, and Kahlil grabbed his second on 29 minutes.
Mabkhout then grabbed his second in the 33rd minute and Mohamed Ahmad got in on the action with his team's seventh on 37 minutes.
To Malaysia's credit, they refused to give up, and kept the home side at bay for more than half an hour, but UAE would find the target three more times before the final whistle blew.
Khalil would score in the 71st and 78th minutes, taking his tally for the day to four, while Mabkhout added his third inbetween those two strikes.
The result leaves Malaysia languishing at the bottom of Group A on one point after three games.
The UAE now top the group having won both of their games so far.
