Alloa Athletic vs Greenock Morton preview - Wasps stung by midfielder absence

Alloa will be without Iain Flannigan as they look for their first win of the season against Morton.

Flannigan has a back problem and no time scale has been put on his return.

Ahead of the game Wasps boss Danny Lennon said: "We are disappointed to have not put any points on board and are determined to put that right against Morton.

"We have been unfortunate in a couple of the games but we need to continue being positive.

"I watched Morton play St Mirren last weekend and they were unlucky not to win. They are coming here looking for the first win as well but we know that we can get things going by beating them and that is what we intend to do."

Morton have mounting injury problems.

Goalkeeper Derek Gaston will miss out due to a thigh injury with knee problems keeping Frank McKeown and Michael Tidser out and a hamstring issue doing likewise for Joe McKee. Mark Russell is also a doubt.

However, Luca Gasporotto is available after a knock kept him out of the 1-0 Scottish League Cup win over Queen of the South on Tuesday night.

Cappielow manager Jim Duffy said: "We have made a steady start and picked up points in draws with Falkirk and St Mirren. We lost narrowly to Hibs so there is a lot to be pleased about, however it would be great to add a win over Alloa to that list."
