Bayern Munich’s President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has held talks with the representatives of Man City target Kevin De Bruyne over a move to the Allianz arena at the end of this season according to Sky Sports.
The Wolfsburg midfielder has been subject to heavy interest from Manchester City over the last few weeks and it has been reported that the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal for the Belgian international, with rumours suggesting that a £58million fee is the magic number to make this deal happen.
Talks are ongoing between Manchester City and Wolfsburg and the lack of movement in the transfer has left a gap open for the German champions Bayern Munich, who are looking to sign the midfielder next season rather than this one.
It is understood that despite Bayern’s interest Kevin De Bruyne is very open to a move to Manchester City but will not go to war with Wolfsburg to secure away from the club.
Several media reports last night had suggested that City’s rivals Manchester United had entered the race to sign the 24-year-old but that does not appear to be the case.
The signing of Kevin De Bruyne would certainly give City a huge edge in their quest to regain the Premier League title from rivals Chelsea. The former Blues midfielder was the Bundesliga’s player of the year last season after registering 10 goals and incredible 20 assists during the last campaign.
