Lorient 0 - 1 Saint-Etienne : Ten-man Lorient beaten

Posted Monday, August 24, 2015 by PA

Romain Hamouma's late goal was enough to secure all three points as St Etienne beat 10-man Lorient 1-0.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte was given his marching orders as early as the first minute when he brought down Hamouma outside the area.

And, despite holding on for almost 90 minutes, Hamouma popped up to hammer Neal Maupay's pass beyond sub keeper Florent Chaigneau to break Les Merlus' hearts.

Les Verts did have Moustapha Bayal Sall's header from Hamouma's corner ruled out earlier for a foul but in the end the visitors did enough to claim their first league win of the season.
