Toulouse 1 - 1 Monaco : Monaco hit back for a point

Posted Sunday, August 23, 2015 by PA

Monaco came from behind to continue their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

Tongo Doumbia put Toulouse ahead but Thomas Lemar's fine goal equalised.

Toulouse waisted the first big opportunity when Daniel Braithwaite headed over from close range with less than 10 minutes played.

Monaco's summer-signing Stephan El Shaarawy should then have opened the scoring on 20 minutes, but his header failed to beat Mauro Goicoechea before the hosts broke the deadlock at the other end.

Danijel Subasic's error from Etienne Didot's delivery placed the ball at Doumbia's feet and he needed no second invitation to open the scoring.

Monaco hit back just after the hour mark, though, when Lemar beat his man before dispatching a wonderful 20-yard effort into the corner.
