Brechin City 1 - 2 Airdrie United : Prunty double delights Diamonds

Bryan Prunty's quick-fire double helped 10-man Airdrie to a 2-1 win at Brechin in Ladbrokes Scottish League 1.

Prunty's first came after 36 minutes, firing the Diamonds ahead when he found space to control Caolan McAleer's through ball before finishing neatly inside the box.

Prunty doubled his tally three minutes later, reacting quickest to fire home from close range after Brechin failed to clear a free-kick.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men when McAleer was dismissed after a dangerous challenge on Craig Molloy.

Brechin had the chance to pull one back after Neil Parry's foul on Andrew Jackson. Jackson stepped up to take the resulting penalty, with goalkeeper Parry saving his effort before the forward fired home the rebound.

Brechin's Ryan Finnie pulled a shot wide with two minutes on the clock, as Gary Bollan's United held on for their first win of the season.
