Wycombe Wanderers 1 - 1 Dagenham and Redbridge : Mixed day for McClure

Posted Sunday, August 23, 2015 by PA

Matt McClure endured a mixed afternoon as the Dagenham striker scored the opening goal before being sent off during the 1-1 draw with his former club Wycombe.

McClure, who was released by the Chairboys this summer, opened the scoring after six minutes before being sent off for a second yellow card with 15 minutes to go.

And Wanderers defender Aaron Pierre compounded his misery by snatching an equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time to extend Wycombe's unbeaten start to the season.

Bottom of the league Daggers showed they were ready to fight at Adams Park and took the lead when McClure was first to react to a clearance and poke the ball home.

Just before the break, new signing Ayo Obileye headed in what he thought was Dagenham's second but the Charlton loanee saw his effort ruled out.

Garry Thompson and Jason Banton both flashed efforts wide for Wanderers in the second half and the equaliser came in injury-time when Pierre headed in Michael Harriman's cross.
