Dumbarton vs Queen of South preview - Brown set for Sons bow

Dumbarton have signed St Johnstone midfielder Scott Brown on loan and he is set for his debut against Queen of the South.

Celtic loanee Jamie Lindsay misses out with a groin injury and manager Stephen Aitken is delaying naming his team as both Andy Graham and Scott Taggart are carrying injuries.

Aitken said: "We lost to Queen's Park in midweek and I will be making changes. Some players were given the opportunity to stake their claim for a first team place but they failed to take it.

"This is a big game and we need a much better performance as Queen of the South have done really well in the Championship."

The Dumfries side miss Callum Tapping, who has a foot injury, while Dale Hilson is a doubt after picking up a knock in their Petrofac Cup loss to Livingston.

Andy Dowie and Iain Russell have both returned to training after injuries and could face the Sons.

Manager James Fowler said: "Dumbarton have done really well to defeat Hibs and St Mirren in their opening games. Like us they lost a cup tie in midweek and like us, they lost it in extra-time ,so both sides are looking to bounce back.

"They have a good squad with plenty of experienced players and this will be a real test for us."
