Exeter City vs York City preview - Wheeler worry for Grecians

Exeter are hoping striker David Wheeler will be fit in time for the Sky Bet League Two visit of York on Saturday.

Wheeler, who scored in the opening two games, missed the Grecians' 2-1 win against Dagenham & Redbridge in midweek with an ankle injury.

Veteran midfielder David Noble played 75 minutes on Tuesday night, only his second appearance since missing the final three months of last season with a hamstring problem.

But Noble might be rested against York as Grecians manager Paul Tisdale has said he will not overplay the 33-year-old and Matt Oakley could be promoted from the bench.

Luke Summerfield is pushing to return for the visitors after sitting out the midweek win over Yeovil with a leg injury.

Summerfield was replaced by 17-year-old Ben Godfrey whose impressive performance will increase the options for boss Russ Wilcox in the City midfield.

Jake Hyde is pushing for a start while fellow striker Emile Sinclair came through a midweek friendly but is not yet available for a return to the first team.

Michael Coulson faces an anxious wait to discover whether he will require an operation on a groin injury after undergoing scans in London this week.
