Agent confirms Manchester United and Tottenham are in talks to sign World Cup star

MANCHESTER UNITED and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head in the race to land Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin.

The Dynamo Moscow star's agent has revealed that both Premier League clubs have stated their interest.

United and Spurs representatives are currently holding talks over a transfer for Kokorin, thought to be in the region of £8m.

Russian news agency TASS report that agent Cyril Loginov said: "Right now I'm working on Kokorin's transfer.

"United and Tottenham are interested in his services.

"There are many reasons to think that it will [happen] in one of two teams before August 31."

The agent also said that Zenit Saint Petersburg are interested in his player as well but they are unwilling to do business with their league rivals.

He added: "Dynamo has several offers from foreign clubs and that's the priority.

"We are willing to negotiate the player, but not with Zenit."
