Big news regarding Kevin De Bruyne’s future was broken late on Wednesday night by reliable local Wolfsburg newspaper Wolfsburger Allgemeiner Zeitung.
The 24-year-old Belgian winger has reportedly decided to leave the German club in order to join big spending Premier League giants Manchester City.
A club record fee of around €80m (£56.7m) is expected to be enough to acquire the former Chelsea youngster, with De Bruyne set to earn a whopping €16m (£11.3m) a year at the Etihad.
Wolfsburg had reportedly offered the Bundesliga Player of the Year a huge €11m a year deal but De Bruyne feels he has a better opportunity to shine in the Champions League at Manchester City.
Having failed at Chelsea, the talented attacking midfielder is expected to start in a four pronged attack including Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.
De Bruyne has reportedly told Wolfsburg that he wants to leave and the clubs must now thrash out a deal.
