Bradford vs Gillingham preview - Clarke absent for Bantams

Bradford will be without injured striker Billy Clarke for their home game against Gillingham but new signing Brad Jones will be included in the squad.

Clarke sustained medial knee ligament damage in Saturday's 1-1 home draw against Shrewsbury and was replaced by Billy Knott midway through the second half.

Australian goalkeeper Jones, who signed a one-year contract on Monday following his release from Liverpool at the end of last season, may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Boss Phil Parkinson must decide whether to stick with Alan Sheehan alongside Rory McArdle in central defence or recall summer signing Nathan Clarke.

Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh will check on a handful of players before making the long trip north.

Injuries continued to keep Doug Loft (calf), Cody McDonald (ankle), Emmanuel Osadebe (calf) and Aaron Morris on the sidelines at Port Vale on Saturday but Edinburgh is hopeful of at least one of them returning to the squad on Tuesday night.

Their absence meant places on the bench for teenagers Elliot List and Darren Oldaker in Burslem.

Max Ehmer, Jake Hessenthaler, Jermaine McGlashan and Rory Donnelly are options for Edinburgh should he wish to make any changes to his team.
