Coventry vs Crewe Alexandra preview - Murphy could start for Sky Blues

Jacob Murphy could be handed his first Coventry start by boss Tony Mowbray against Crewe.

The on-loan Norwich winger made his debut as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 4-0 win at Millwall after arriving at the Ricoh Arena last week.

Mowbray is hoping to bring in a striker but is likely to keep faith with majority of the squad who moved top of Sky Bet League One at the weekend.

Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph: "We haven't got many options. I'd like to get Jacob Murphy integrated as quickly as we can. There are a few with knocks and niggles but we're hopeful they will be all right."

Crewe boss Steve Davis has vowed to keep faith with the 4-3-3 system the team has been playing, despite the Alex's disappointing start to the season.

But it remains to be seen whether the same starting line-up is retained for a fourth game this term after the League One draw with Port Vale and loss to Scunthorpe, and Capital One Cup defeat to Preston.

Davis has spoken specifically about attacking trio Ryan Colclough, Callum Saunders and George Cooper - all of whom have only featured as substitutes so far this term - being under consideration.

Defender Harry Davis (knee) and midfielder James Jones (shoulder) are still unavailable.
