Caen 1 - 0 Toulouse : Da Silva wins it for Caen

Caen defender Damien Da Silva headed the only goal of the game to clinch his side a 1-0 home win against Toulouse.

Da Silva capped an impressive all-round display when he rose highest in the 70th minute to head home Julien Feret's free-kick and break the deadlock at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

The solitary goal was enough to secure Caen a second successive Ligue 1 win following last week's opening-day success by the same score at Marseille.

Neither side produced many goalscoring chances but Caen went close to doubling their lead in the 79th minute through Yahia Allaedine.

Toulouse were reduced to 10 men in the closing stages when Serbian defender Uros Spajic was shown a straight red card for his tackle on Vincent Bessat.
