Faissal El Bakhtaoui scored twice in six minutes as Dunfermline thrashed 10-man Cowdenbeath 7-1.

El Bakhtaoui opened the scoring in the second minute with a strike from the middle of the box before adding his second from a similar position shortly after.

Dunfermline claimed a 3-0 lead through Michael Moffat's strike in the 13th minute with Joe Cardle scoring the hosts' fourth just after the half-hour mark.

David Hopkirk scored the fifth from a Cardle pass in the 65th minute after Cowdenbeath had been reduced to 10 men following Craig Johnston's 59th-minute dismissal for a foul on defender Ryan Williamson, before Ryan Wallace scored the sixth in the 73rd minute.

Cardle scored the hosts' seventh three minutes from the whistle before Pat Scullion's late consolation.
