Ayr Utd. 2 - 1 Brechin City : Trouten seals win from the spot

Posted Sunday, August 16, 2015 by PA

Alan Trouten's penalty gave Ayr their first points of the Scottish League One season with a 2-1 win over 10-man Brechin.

United had taken the lead in the 21st minute when Alan Forrest headed home Brian Gilmour's corner after a dominant opening.

Brechin improved after the break and found a leveller in the 68th minute when Robert Thomson got on the end of Craig Molloy's cross and headed home.

But their parity was short-lived as Ayr restored their advantage five minutes later.

Graeme Smith was penalised for an infringement and Trouten slammed home the resulting spot-kick.

Smith's afternoon went from bad to worse in the closing stages as he was dismissed for violent conduct.
