Falkirk 1 - 0 Raith Rovers : Kerr snatches win for Falkirk

Posted Sunday, August 16, 2015 by PA

Mark Kerr's late goal gave Falkirk a 1-0 win over 10-man Raith Rovers in the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship.

Falkirk's Luke Leahy squandered a good early opportunity when he blazed a close-range shot over the crossbar before Raith's James Craigen soon did the same at the other end.

Blair Alston and David Smith failed to hit the target as Falkirk created further opportunities, with the best chance falling to Leahy before the break, as he volleyed past the post.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men with 19 minutes remaining when Kyle Benedictus clumsily fouled John Baird and he was shown a second yellow card.

The man advantage showed as Kerr soon notched the Bairns ahead, driving his effort low into the corner 10 minutes from time.
