Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted he's 'not surprised' by the Football Association's decision to reject Thibaut Courtois' red card appeal.
The Belgium international received his marching orders in the latter stages of Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea, picking up a three-match suspension in the process.
The Blues lodged an appeal this week in the hopes of having the decision overturned, but have been unsuccessful on that count.
It comes as no surprise to Mourinho, though, with the Portuguese tactician claiming he expected the appeal to be rejected.
"No, I am not surprised," Mourinho said. "I am not surprised because normally I know we are not normally successful in these.
"What happened to Nemanja Matic last year against Burnley, what happened to Diego Costa against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup.
"Normally we are not successful and normally the committees they support the referee decisions so when the referee decides that it is a red card, normally 99 per cent of the time the committees don't go against the decision and they support the referees' decision. So I never thought he could be available."
