Aston Villa sign talented Barca ace Adama Traore

Aston Villa have today completed the signing of Barcelona wonderkid Adama Traore on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, after fending off competition from several sides for the 19-year-old star.

The Villans had been heavily linked with Traore over the last few weeks, but there were other sides who were keen as well, such as Stoke City and Liverpool.

Mark Hughes confirmed last week at his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Brendan Rodgers’ side that Traore was in discussions with the club, but the Potters boss did not seem too confident in his expressions.

Metro reported shortly after that Liverpool had rejoined the race to sign Traore, but that has now gone out the window with the young forward the latest to join Tim Sherwood’s troops.

Traore joined Barcelona’s youth setup in 2004 at the age of eight and in 2013 he was promoted to the club’s ‘B’ team, before making his debut later that year.

The 19-year-old then played his first La Liga game at the age of only 17, replacing Neymar in a home win over Granada and just a few days later he also played in his first Champions League match.

Traore is highly-rated in Spain and his departure from Barcelona could anger some fans perhaps.

Villa have already signed the likes of Rudy Gestede, Jordan Ayew, Jordan Amavi and Jordan Veretout, which contributed to their opening day win over Bournemouth last week.
