Port Vale vs Gillingham preview - Vale to monitor Streete

Port Vale are monitoring the fitness of defender Remie Streete ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One home clash with Gillingham.

Streete came off at half-time in Tuesday's Capital One Cup first-round victory over Burnley with a reported hamstring problem.

He was replaced by Ryan Inniss, who will be ready to step in again if required.

Vale are set to be without midfielder Michael O'Connor (knee) once more, while goalkeeper Chris Neal is continuing his recovery from ankle surgery.

Boss Justin Edinburgh may be reluctant to make changes to the Gillingham side that beat League One favourites Sheffield United 4-0 on the opening day.

Aaron Morris is doubtful after sustaining a knock in the season opener which caused him to miss the Capital One Cup comeback at Plymouth in midweek. His replacement, Jake Hessenthaler, could keep his place after scoring the winner three minutes from time at Home Park.

Emmanuel Osadebe netted on his debut against the Blades after joining from Spurs in the summer and the youngster could be among those recalled after his absence from Tuesday's squad due to a tight calf.

Edinburgh says captain Doug Loft (calf) is resting well but Saturday may come too soon for striker Cody McDonald (ankle), who has missed a large chunk of pre-season.
