Burnley vs Birmingham preview - Keane set for Clarets return

Michael Keane will return to Burnley's squad for their Saturday lunchtime encounter with Birmingham.

The ex-Manchester United defender missed out against Port Vale in the Capital One Cup in midweek with a minor hamstring strain, with boss Sean Dyche exercising caution having been left light in his centre-back department following Jason Shackell's exit to Derby.

The Clarets remain without four players but full-back Matt Lowton (shin) is back running independently from the main training group and could be the first of the quartet back.

Fredrik Ulvestad (ankle), Danny Lafferty (collarbone) and Ashley Barnes (knee) are all a little further away.

Birmingham's Michael Morrison is fit for the trip to Turf Moor despite limping off in midweek.

The defender was forced off in the Capital One Cup win at Bristol Rovers with a tight hamstring but is available to boss Gary Rowett after being assessed.

Midfielder David Davis is also fit despite playing with a splint on his hand after tearing a ligament in his finger.

Keeper Tomasz Kuszczak could return in goal after being rested for the trip to Bristol Rovers with Adam Legzdins being handed his debut in the tie.
