Scunthorpe United vs Crewe Alexandra preview - No new worries for Iron

Posted Friday, August 14, 2015 by PA

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins has reported no fresh injury worries for his side's League One clash with Crewe.

Robins' men will be looking to bounce back from an agonising 7-6 penalty shoot-out defeat to Barnsley in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Luke Williams (medial cruciate ligament) and Niall Canavan (torn ankle ligaments) will be sidelined for three months with their injuries, while goalkeeper Luke Daniels serves the second game of his three-match ban.

Hakeeb Adelakun managed 45 minutes against Barnsley, his first piece of action since last term after missing pre-season through injury.

Crewe boss Steve Davis has the same squad to choose from for this game as he did for Wednesday's 3-1 Capital One Cup home defeat to Preston.

With no new injuries to his group having come out of the tie, only two players remain unavailable.

Defender Harry Davis has started to run as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee problem but is not expected to be under consideration for another couple of weeks.

Midfielder James Jones is further away from a return to action due to the shoulder problem that has kept him on the sidelines.
