Tomas Rosicky's agent has revealed the Arsenal midfielder is expected to be out for one to two months after undergoing knee surgery.
The Czech Republic international has been sidelined since hurting his knee in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Iceland in June, which saw him miss the start of the new Premier League season.
Rosicky's career with the north Londoners has been hampered by injuries and he managed just 15 Premier League appearances last term due to his problems.
However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger kept faith with the 34-year-old by handing him a contract extension in May to keep Rosicky at the Emirates Stadium for the 2015/16 campaign.
But the player's advisor, Pavel Paska, said Wenger will have to wait for up to eight weeks before he can call on Rosicky again.
Paska told the Czech media that his client "underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his knee on August 4. The recovery is expected to take four to eight weeks."
