Chelsea preparing third bid for Everton defender Stones

Chelsea are set to continue their chase to sign John Stones from Everton.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues are lodging a third bid for the 21-year-old defender after having two previous offers rejected by the Toffees.

The reigning Premier League champions have been rebuffed with £20million and £26million proposals for Stones but it is believed that a third offer, in excess of £30m, is not far away.

Jose Mourinho sees four-time England international Stones as a long-term replacement for captain John Terry and is determined to lure him to Stamford Bridge but Everton boss Roberto Martinez has absolutely no intention of selling the former Barnsley young gun.
