Birmingham vs Reading preview - Quartet set for Blues debuts

Birmingham boss Gary Rowett could hand debuts to several new signings against Reading.

Tomasz Kuzak, Jon Toral and Jacques Maghoma could all make their bow after joining in the summer.

Midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld, from FC Groningen, is also primed for his debut following his summer move.

Rowett has a fully-fit squad to pick from after coming through pre-season unscathed.

Reading will be without Pavel Pogrebnyak, Garath McCleary, Niall Keown, Jack Stacey and Jake Cooper for their opener at Birmingham.

Tariqe Fosu is also a doubt but Hal Robson-Kanu is back in training and could feature.

New recruits Orlando Sa, Ali Al-Habsi, Jonathan Bond, Stephen Quinn, Paul McShane and Andrew Taylor, who arrived on a season-long loan earlier this week, are in line to make their debuts.

Al-Habsi and Bond will battle it out for the number one spot with manager Steve Clarke admitting on Thursday he was still undecided on who will start against the Blues.
