ARSENAL striker Danny Welbeck is an audacious target for Besiktas as they look to replace Demba Ba.
England star Welbeck, 24, had a mixed first season with Arsenal following his shock £16m move from Manchester United.
He has been out with a knee injury since April and missed the club’s Asian tour.
Arsenal have been linked with a raft of strikers in recent weeks, including Real Madrid’s French star Karim Benezema, 27, and Bayern’s Munich Polish international Robert Lewandowski, 26.
SHOCK: Welbeck is a target for Besiktas
With Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returnng to fitness Arsenal are well-stocked with strikers and Besiktas’s interest in Welbeck might hit the right notes.
Welbeck is certainly wanted by President Fikret Orman, who has stated he’s ready to fly into London if there’s a glimmer of hope.
Beskitas recently signed Hoffenheim full-back Beck and Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma but their priority is trying to find a replacement for Ba, who snubbed interest from West Brom to sign for Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua in a deal worth around £10million.
