REAL MADRID manager Rafael Benitez has once again told Manchester United that Sergio Ramos is not for sale.
Ramos, who joined Los Blancos a decade ago from Sevilla, is understood to be high up on Louis van Gaal's summer shopping list.
Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils - who are currently on their pre-season tour of North America - have agreed personal terms with the 29-year-old.
Benitez, who was appointed as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement in June, is well aware of United's pursuit of Ramos but is confident of keeping the Spaniard at the Bernabeu.
POWER SERG: Ramos is wanted by United
"When I arrived here, I spoke with Iker [Casillas] and Sergio [Ramos], learned about their situations and gave them my opinions," Benitez said.
"Ramos has known since day one that I want him to stay and, as I said the other day, I'm convinced that he will stay.
