Rafa Benitez has suggest that Real Madrid don’t need to pursue Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, according to the Daily Express.
David de Gea’s transfer saga has been one of the longest and drawn out in history. The Spanish goalkeeper was reportedly ready to move to Madrid however Real’s signing of Kiko Casilla from Espanyol seems to have halted any need for him.
Rafa Benitez has commented on his latest goalkeeping signing saying: “With Casilla’s arrival we have more competition and we are happy. The keepers that have we are sufficient and have enough quality”.
The Spanish goalkeeper was arguably United’s best player last year recording 11 clean sheets and making a total of 78 saves. De Gea also only failed to claim one ball throughout the whole of the season just passed.
Van Gaal on De Gea: “He has the chance to go to another great club. He is Spanish. His girlfriend is Spanish. But he shall not leave easily”

Manchester United have been no strangers to expressing their desire to keep hold of De Gea’s services with reports suggesting they are even willing to run down the last year of De Gea’s contract and let him leave for free next summer.
Rumours and speculation have suggested that any potential move for De Gea from Madrid would have to include defender Sergio Ramos as part of the deal, as United look to strengthen their back line before the start of the season.
