Sergio Romero is set to become a new Man United player
Sergio Romero is set to have a medical with Manchester United after accepting a move to Old Trafford, according to reports.
United have been in talks with Argentine goalkeeper Romero in recent days, with Louis van Gaal looking to add to his goalie options.
And despite rival interest from Roma, Sky Italia says Romero prefers to move to United and is now set to have a medical shortly before signing.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after leaving Sampdoria last month and knows Van Gaal well after the pair worked together at AZ Alkmaar.
Romero is set to become United’s back-up goalie, replacing Victor Valdes who is set to leave following a row with Van Gaal this week.
