MANCHESTER UNITED have completed the signing of Italy full-back Matteo Darmian.
The 25-year-old has moved to Old Trafford from Torino in an initial £12.7m deal and signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year.
The Serie A club confirmed the move on their website and thanked the former AC Milan player for his four years at the club.
A statement read: "Torino Football Club announces that it has sold to Manchester United, outright, the rights of the player Matteo Darmian.
"President Urbano Cairo would like to thank Matteo Darmian for the seriousness, commitment and professionalism demonstrated in these years.
DONE DEAL: Matteo Darmian has joined Manchester United
"Torino FC hopes for Matteo the best satisfaction for this new amazing experience."
Darmian becomes United's second signing of the summer following the £25m arrival of Memphis Depay while they have also reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Louis van Gaal had made signing a new right-back a top priority this summer and turned his attentions to Darmian after missing out on Dani Alves, Nathaniel Clyne and Seamus Coleman.
Darmian has been capped 13 times by Italy and was one of the few players to impress for Cesare Prandelli's side at last summer's World Cup as they crashed out in the group stages.
