CAPTAIN FANTASTIC: Henderson is hoping to use everything he learnt from Gerrard
LIVERPOOL captain Jordan Henderson has vowed to use Steven Gerrard as inspiration in his new role.
The former Sunderland midfielder was announced as the Kop's new leader on the field earlier today.
He's got big boots to fill as he attempts to replace the legendary Steven Gerrard, who wore the captain's armband at Anfield for 12 years.
Gerrard's off playing in the MLS for LA Galaxy but Henderson admits he'll take a lot of what he learnt from the 35-year-old into his new job.
Henderson said: "I've learnt a lot off Stevie and how he conducted himself as the captain of this club both on and off the field.
"You'll always learn from top players – and Steven was exactly that.
