Gyan completes SIPG move

The Ghana captain formally leaves the UAE club on Wednesday in order to complete his medical at Sven-Goran Eriksson's side.

"I want to really thank the entire Al Ain club and its fans for the support they have given me in my time here," Gyan said.

"At Al Ain we were able to achieve a lot of things and I tell you this club will remain in my heart forever.

"It is however time to embrace a new challenge and hopefully this new challenge will be as successful or even better than my time here at Al Ain."

After joining Al Ain from Sunderland in 2011, he played a key role in securing three UAE Pro League titles, one President's Cup and one Super Cup for the UAE club, scoring 113 goals in the process.

During that period of domestic success, he also helped the club reach the 2014 AFC Champions League semi-finals and was subsequently named the competition's best foreign player.
